Les Miserables

Now this is what I call a powerhouse cast.
Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean, Russel Crowe as Inspector Javert, Anne Hathaway as Fantine, Amanda Seyfried as Cosette, Samantha Barks as Eponine, Sacha Baron Cohen as Thenardier and my favorite character actress of all time--- Helena Bonham Carter as Madame Thenardier.

I am officially hating the very talented Miss Hathaway
I smell Oscars already... You guys, it's Les Miserables! :)

Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah

I forgot to post this...

Two weeks ago, we got to watch the return of the Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah The Musicale at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP). Hubby knows Im a sucker for stage plays and though all the tickets were sold out, we managed to sneak our way in. It was an awesome experience for me coz I've been itching to watch this since I read about from Icon Magazine (remember that awesome mag???) back in 2005. I was wishing there would be a Cebu staging of this play, but nada.

I'm not a big fan of the movie. I personally think the movie starring Zsa Zsa and Rustom was a complete blasphemy of how great this musicale is. The show that I got to watch starred Eula Valdez as Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah and boy was she hilarious. I havent seen that side of her, and she really gave justice to the role. I heard there was another staging before that starred Kay Brosas and I wish I got to watch that coz Im a big fan. She fits this role like a glove :) Anyway, no regrets, Eula was just as awesome and the whole show was a HUGE success as always.

After the show, BBK and I got to take pictures of the characters. He even introduced me to the men behind the Musicale--- The Stage Director, the Musical Director and the cartoon writer. It was a very sentimental moment for me. I'm a big fan of musicales :)

Why?

Something that I did over the weekend. My sketches reflect my mood, and this unknown figure couldnt keep a straight face. She looks perplexed, and puzzled, and lonely.
.
Why is it so hard to be happy?

Sketches

I was cleaning my room this morning and I came across one of my really really REALLY old sketch pads. This is actually one of the tons of sketch pads I used to have back when I used to fancy drawing and sketching as a hobby (and yes as a good source of income in college). A lot of them are now lost, I don’t know who has them now, but I'm pretty sure theyre with some of my friends and relatives who love my creation. They usually take it out of my pad without my consent, and the next thing I know almost always, the sketch is already framed and hung and lit and displayed like some piece of important artwork. I didn’t complain, I mean to me then, sketches were just sketches and they can do whatever.
But now that I've only got one really old sketchpad left, I'm starting to miss my old artworks. I photographed them earlier so I wont lose them forever, and Ive decided to put it in this blog and my facebook account for posterity's sake. I mean whatever. I just don’t wanna lose them.

And then I think Im gonna be able to come up with more as I go to an old friend's house in Danao. She has a wallful of my drawings (and even paintings). It's gonna be really cool I bet.
There you go..

Digital Art

I am currently crushing on the idea of becoming a digital artist. I was looking at some really nice digital portraits online and it made me remember the time when I was making a living through making charcoal paintings wayback college. This is the perfect time to revive my interests in visual arts, but this time I plan to course it through by way of digital portraits. Coolness.

I was googling some online courses on Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator and immediately I came up with a lot of awesome ideas. This is going to be something that should keep me busy this weekend (and perhaps the most artistic way to divert my attention from food and booze).

And by the way--- Atan and Amita--- if you get to read this post, let me just inform you that I am missing our painting sessions like crazy. Let's do some again one of these days, shall we?
