Merry Christmas!

I didn't have time to blog last December coz I was busy with 2 projects from an online job that ran for a couple of months. Christmas was awesome, I got to spend it with old friends that I havent seen for years, and of course I had some quality time with my family (I actually live just 2 hours away from home but I never really have the chance to bond with them as often as I want coz I hate long travels).

Our company Christmas party was awesome, I hosted this year's event and boy did I have a fun time. Thank you Ezra for the wings, and thank you Jason for the cute top. I know it's a bit late but I still owe you guys my Christmas greetings. Belated Merry Christmas, bebehs :)

Sorry for Not Posting Anthing For a Long Time

The past 2 months have been really busy for me. I'm juggling 3 jobs at the same time, and I'm having a lot of problems with my lovelife (I dont even want to call it "lovelife" in the first place coz all it brought me was just a bunch of headaches and quickies).

Anyways, I'm posting up something now coz a lot of my friends have been asking me for updates. To tell you honestly, the past couple of months have just been so-so so there' nothing really relevant that I could write about now.

In a nutshell though---

  1. I had one awesome fiesta celebration back at home.
  2. I finally said goodbye to what I thought was a very promising relationship.
  3. I had one awesome Christmas with some people that I love.
  4. And yes, I'm dating this awesome person with abs to die for.

I have a feeling it's gonna be one good year. Positive thinking is the key.

Happy Birthday, Vicky!

Closing Cycles

One always has to know when a stage comes to an end. If we insist on staying longer than the necessary time, we lose the happiness and the meaning of the other stages we have to go through. Closing cycles, shutting doors, ending chapters - whatever name we give it, what matters is to leave in the past the moments of life that have finished.

Did you lose your job? Has a loving relationship come to an end? Did you leave your parents' house? Gone to live abroad? Has a long-lasting friendship ended all of a sudden? You can spend a long time wondering why this has happened. You can tell yourself you won't take another step until you find out why certain things that were so important and so solid in your life have turned into dust, just like that. But such an attitude will be awfully stressing for everyone involved: your parents, your husband or wife, your friends, your children, your sister, everyone will be finishing chapters, turning over new leaves, getting on with life, and they will all feel bad seeing you at astandstill.

None of us can be in the present and the past at the same time, not even when we try to understand the things that happen to us. What has passed will not return: we cannot forever be children, late adolescents, sons that feel guilt or rancor towards our parents, lovers who day and night relive an affair with someone who has gone away and has not the least intention of coming back. Things pass, and the best we can do is to let them really go away.

That is why it is so important (however painful it may be!) to destroy souvenirs, move, give lots of things away to orphanages, sell or donate thebooks you have at home. Everything in this visible world is a manifestation of the invisible world, of what is going on in our hearts - and getting rid ofcertain memories also means making some room for other memories to take their place. Let things go. Release them. Detach yourself from them. Nobody plays this life with marked cards, so sometimes we win and sometimes we lose. Do not expect anything in return, do not expect your efforts to be appreciated, your genius to be discovered, your love to be understood. Stopturning on your emotional television to watch the same program over and over again, the one that shows how much you suffered from a certain loss: that is only poisoning you, nothing else.

Nothing is more dangerous than not accepting love relationships that are broken off, work that is promised but there is no starting date, decisionsthat are always put off waiting for the "ideal moment." Before a new chapter is begun, the old one has to be finished: tell yourself that what haspassed will never come back. Remember that there was a time when you could live without that thing or that person - nothing is irreplaceable, a habit is not a need. This may sound so obvious, it may even be difficult, but it is very important.

Closing cycles. Not because of pride, incapacity or arrogance, but simply because that no longer fits your life. Shut the door, change the record, clean the house, shake off the dust. Stop being who you were, and change into who you are.

Happy Birthday Janeth!

I never really had the chance to tell you how much I appreciate our friendship…

For cooking my favorite carbonara, usually on days when I'm so fed up with having no carbs…
For the Marlboro sticks you give without conditions…
For the candies I steal from your drawer …
For your hair puller I borrow almost everyday…
For lending me your beanie bag when your done using it after your sleep break…
For making us all laugh with your cute tantrums…
For the motherly lessons you teach us…

Thank you…

Happy Birthday!

Crush (The Prelude)

Crushie is back in the gym. I found myself smiling and smirking at the thought that crushie's there and we're both in one roof. We're friends now. We used to be not friends and he used to not pay attention because, as per a VERY reliable source, he had a boyfriend that time. He didn’t want to pay attention to other men. Now I hear he's single, and I'm having multiple orgasms just by the thought of it. Hahha

Now Im plotting what to wear in the gym for the next 15 days. And Im getting a haircut. And a shave.

Oh god this is so highschool. :)

Im not done with this yet. I have a lot to say about crushes.

Don’t we all?

Ring

If I win the 55 million lotto prize pot this week, without a bat of an eyelash, Im gonna get me this---

It's the special edition Lakers 2008-2009 championship ring from David Stern and Lakers executive vice president Jeanie Buss.

Aaaaaaargh!

This Lakers new rock is 15-karats (the usual championship rings are just 14 karats), with 15 diamonds weighing 2.85, and the rest is gold. This is a commemoration of 15th NBA championship.

It sells at at least $10000, that’s almost half a million in my currency.

Call me shallow now but who says money cant buy happiness?

Who Is Your Crush????

I tried signing in at an online work-from-home website today coz a lot of people in our office are taking in some part time work for extra cash. I recall signing up for it 3 months ago when I was researching on an article that I wrote for a local website about working and how it changed the face of earning good money without leaving the comforts of your own home.

I got what I wanted from the website and I came up with a good article that got published after a month.

But today I was on to something. I was looking for part-time online work just like my friends hence I needed to log in again to that account.

I forgot my username and password. As usual.

So I clicked on the forgot password button and it led me to this page that asked me…

"Who is your crush"?

I typed in 3 names and I got rejected. It prompted "Your answer to the security question was incorrect"

What the hell was I thinking then? Why would I make "Who is your crush" a security question when I know for a fact that I change crushes as often as I change my underwear?

Now who was that again? Help. :)

My adoration For Mimi went up a thousand folds when I saw this news about Mimi proposing a toast to a gay couple who got engaged in Las Vegas.

And this takes me to a very touching line of the prayer that our Pastor said during last Sunday's worship:

"Lord, we are in a way thankful for these trials that we have in our nation. We are thankful because this taught us to become a country that is responsible of our own. And more importantly, this showed us that we are, despite our differences, is after all a nation that is unceasingly compassionate of our own people."

Let's never cease from helping until we see that everything is okay, okay?

Pink

I have spent the last 2 weeks decorating my place and I'm at a point where I'm still unhappy with the results. I've switched from pink curtains to blue, but something still feels off. I have changed floor mats from white to purple and I'm not happy yet. I however found the perfect carpet the other day. Looked like pink fur but I coudnt afford it. That wouldve been the one thing that could connect what's off between my curtains and flooring.

I'm so gonna get it come payday. Move over Elle Woods.

Owner Of A Lonely Heart

I lost my favorite pair of rubber shoes last week. Someone stole them in the gym--- Yeah in the freakin' gym. Just when you think the upper mid class don’t steal used stuff, some of them actually do. This is not the first time I lost something in the locker room. Three months ago I lost my vanity pouch with EVERYTHING in it, including some cash.

Im stuck with my old pairs this week and I don’t even like them that much. I have a couple of pairs that I hardly ever wear, Im talking about a yellow Nike waffle and a black and yellow Nike runners. The former makes me look like Ronald McDonald and the latter feels like hell in my feet. And then there's the orange Puma and the blue Chucks and the white loafers that Im not comfortable wearing.

It sucks to be me this week.

I'm missing my favorite pair so much I don’t even want to the gym anymore. It didn’t cost that much but it had a lot of sentimental value. That pair just felt really awesome while doing the 3k, or while dancing-- they just stick to the vinyl floor so nicely it feels like Im not wearing any footwear at all.

Someone please return my shoes. :(

Something to Start My Weekend Right

Have a great "payday" weekend babies! :)

SakSak Festival

Last week I was given the privilege to record the official festival song of the Sak-sak Festival of Samboan. The song was written and composed by Mr. Sam Costannila and was given life by the musical genius of Mr. Gani Villaroho, and of course interpreted by yours truly :)

It was truly an honor to have worked with such talents, I had about a week to study the demo, I dreaded for the day I'm finally putting my own touch to the music but these guys have been truly friendly and accommodating.

I would like to congratulate the officials of Samboan, spearheaded by Mayor Raymund Calderon for this wonderful festival song. It was formally launched last Sept 30 with Gov. Gwen Garcia as guest of Honor and speaker.

There are 10 Contingents of different local tribes who will be competing the Street Dancing and Grand showdown with the Festival song in place. Each tribe will show their best of dances and how Sak-Sak is popular in Samboan through dance steps and movements.

My apologies for being unable to come to your mardi gras, my work schedule's just been uber-crazy. :)

Lacoste Anyone?

I got this news from the ABS-CBN news website. A resident spotted a crocodile in one of the floodwaters of Cainta. He took a picture of it, along with 3 other witnesses. It has been reported that this crocodile must have escaped from the Pasig Rainforest Park and there could be more crocodiles, and other creatures out there. Scary.

According to his accounts:

“It was pitch black. There was no electricity or whatever,” he recalled. “But we
had a flash light. We trained our flashlight on the thing and saw that it was a
crocodile.”

Scared by the close encounter, Lambert said they stepped back slowly by a few feet and avoided making sudden movements. “We didn’t panic because we didn’t want to alarm it.”
Creepy.

The worse part is, Pasig city Mayor Robert Eusebio denied earlier that any of the crocodiles from the forest park escaped. He said that the animals in the Park are well kept in their respective cages.

So this could mean that the animal may come from wherever, and there could be more out there. They may have inhabited the swampy areas of the river, I dunno...

This resident's encounter with the crocodile is not the only one involving wildlife that victims reported in the aftermath of the disaster wrought by typhoon Ondoy. At the height of the floods, some residents also reported of snakes suddenly appearing in their houses.

Manila Tragedy

The past few days have been really terrible for our friends and folks who are based in Manila and some parts of the north. The calamity brought about by typhoon Ondoy has brought sufferings to a lot of our brothers and sisters who are based in Luzon.

I have been watching the news for the past 4 days and indeed a lot of areas have not yet been reached by our voluteers who took care of the relief operations. It's sad to think that from someone who lives a bit far from the metropolis so isolated from the tragedy, the only way we can help is by sending in relief in any way possible. The most basic of needs are scarce in most areas in Manila and it really gets painful to think of the people, especially the children, the sick and those who cant fight for themselves who are flooded and drenched with nothing decent to drink or eat.

We have been running our own Ondoy relief campaign here in the office and it is so overwhelming that colleagues, even with the emptiest wallets, have pitched in just to be able to reach our fellowmen in need. It even becomes more overwhelming to think that the rest of our countrymen are doing the same.

My condolences to those families who lost their loved ones. Relief and restoration is something that we all can work on hand in hand, but the loss of a loved one is too big a wound to heal. My prayers go out to all of you who have lost their loved ones, homes, possessions, jobs… I couldn’t think of any other more powerful tool than prayers.

God is good, and God will always be good.
