A lot of people are now abuzz on the Sharon Cuneta billboard ad for Marie France. The billboard shows 2 images of the Megastar, one donning on the usual chubby figure we've grown to love today, and the other one that's disturbingly more like the skinny image of a resurrected Shawie in the 90's. What people have been talking about is the fact that this might have been another product of flawless photoshoping, and not a product of Marie France.
Very rarely can you now see a great picture that hasn't been enhanced by Photoshop. I passed by Ayala Road the other day and saw this disturbing billboard of Jinky Pacquiao for Belo. She was altered beyond recognition. Now come on, who are we kidding? We demand a little bit of honesty from the products that we buy in the market.
As per an article that Raymund Isaac wrote in inquirer.net--- "As I have been accused in some cases of using Photoshop to make my images beautiful, even if, in fact, only simple photography techniques have been applied. If had wanted to seriously Photoshop the image, trust me, I would have done more".
I even saw this interview this morning of Raymund Isaac at a morning show in QTV, and he reiterated that he only used photography techniques for Sharon's photoshoot. Now it makes more sense to me on a marketing point of view. Photographers and artists have certain limitations as to how boldly they could alter images before they get printed or published.
Congratultions to the Megastar for a fab new figure. Which reminds me--- I seriously have to go on a diet.
