What would you teach your teenage self about beauty?

I went to the gym this morning; surprisingly I saw my gym-buddy sweating out with all the rest of the people who prefer to work out in the morning (we used to work-out in the afternoon or evening). We pretty much spent the whole morning in the catching up with things, assisting each other with the weights and machines, we even spent like an hour in the sauna.

We talked about weight loss, and how things are different now that we have come to age (I think 26 is old already, coz there are actually a few things that I could no longer do compared to when I was, let’s say, 15 years old)…

He asked me one interesting question: SUPPOSING YOU HAD THIS ABILITY TO GO BACK TO THE PAST, WHAT WOULD YOU TEACH YOUR TEENAGE SELF ABOUT BEAUTY?

Five things:

1. If you have never ever ever ever lit a single stick you’re whole life, then do not consider the thought to light one. Smoking is not cool, and it’s REALLY hard to quit once you start smoking... Seriously...

2. Sleep as much as you want and never worry about failing exams or studying too much to excel in your class. As you grow older, the lines will show and you’ll regret ever getting yourself used to having ugly sleeping habits. Don’t worry, you’ll get a job, and your grades have no direct impact on the kind of job you’ll get in the future.

3. Go easy on the pork. Eat your veggies, gawd!

4. Take care of your teeth because they won’t be there for long. Dental care as you grow older gets more and more expensive. The more problems you have, the more costly it would be for you.

5. Take a lot of pictures of yourself. As you grow older, you’ll go back to these pictures and recall how supple and soft your skin was, or how cute you smiled, and how vibrant you looked, and you'll grow old happy.

So there, I throw back the same question to you… What would you teach your teenage self about beauty?
